Rug making history in China

Ouring the Sung dynasty, the third of the great   styles  developed.    

The philosophers    of   the    eleventh    and twelfth centuries reverted to the past in their comments and conclusions furnished art with a net-work of ideas, from hich many intricate philosophical and occult designs evolved. Neither the entrance of Mohammedan, Roman Catholic or Mongolian ideas materially changed the historic ornament of China prior to the Sung dynasty.

The motifs they supplied were mingled with those of later periods into which they merged.
