Chinese rug
The classification of rugs depends upon the recognition of certain technical peculiarities that they possess.
These peculiarities make it possible to place the rugs in a certain period of time with considerable accuracy.
Chinese rugs are recognizable by characteristic designs, chief of these being mythological, naturalistic and geometric, and they have been copied through the centuries. Some of the rugs have archaic dragons in the corners and borders.
Others show books, lutes, chessboards, scrolls, and the significant peach, pomegranate, and other fruit.
